BeatCrave Poll: Do You Listen To Tributes and Covers?
posted on June 22nd, 2009 by VSQ
A while back Beatcrave was nice enough to feature a review of our new albums, including tributes to Radiohead, No Age, Animal Collective, Cat Power, and many more. Now they want to know your opinion about tributes. They just posted a poll asking readers whether or not they listen to covers and tributes.
Most people think cover bands are lame, but is a “cover,” itself, lame?
Vote in the poll and don’t forget to let them know how much you love us!

as long as the band knows they can not do better than the original, then covers are ok.
I really love your quartet arrangements of these pop/rock songs. I was listening to some clips through this website of the tribute albums which are a great idea, but as a consumer, I probably wouldn’t buy most of them because I don’t know too many songs from each one. I know a few songs from almost every “tribute” album, but I would most rather purchase a CD with multiple hits, like the Guitar Hero or Hits of 2007 albums because I know almost every song on those. So for a marketable standpoint, I would suggest doing more albums like that in the future. But keep doing what you’re doing, I love it! Thanks for putting a unique twist on my favorite pop/rock tunes to weave it into the part of me that’s a viola dork!
