Radiohead Jacket Made From Recycled Plastic PET Bottles

posted on July 14th, 2009 by VSQ

Just received an email from Waste.uk.com, about the new Radiohead jackets. What makes these jackets cooler than any other Radiohead jacket? Because they are made from 100% certified recycled plastic PET bottles, a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is commonly used in beverage containers.

We like this idea because for each jacket made, there are twenty-five less plastic bottles sitting in a landfill somewhere. Let’s be honest, most of us don’t really spend much time worrying about recycling the plastics that we consume. But for only £45 ($73) we can simply buy a Radiohead jacket and feel like we are doing something to help save the environment, or at least destroy it slower.  I can imagine that these jackets would also make an interesting conversation starter.

Visit their official website for more details and to pre-order.  Click here read more about the process of creating the fabric from plastic bottles.

P.S. Don’t forget to check out our newest album, Vitamin String Quartet Performs Radiohead’s In Rainbows. Click here for more info.
