VSQ Evanescence & Aerosmith Sheet Music Coming JUNE 2010

We know you’ve been waiting patiently (well, some of you) for Vitamin String Quartet sheet music to become available. Well your wait is almost over. This summer will mark the arrival of our first two sheet music releases. Drumroll please…by popular demand, we will be releasing Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life” and Aerosmith’s “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”
We hope you are all as excited as we are about this new development. Please feel free to keep posting requests in the comments. We love to get your feedback!

I am curious to know why only certain pieces are being published as sheet music? Are there copyright laws prohibiting the release of top titles?
If all of the titles were released into sheet music, this company would change the string world especially in the public schools. My high school orchestra kids are dying to play Vitamin’s music. They even transcribed some songs from the recording to perform it.

Hey, I started a quartet with my friends and we can’t find any sheet music. I have been looking from the start of April and I still can’t find good music. I then went on to youtube and found some Vitamin String quartet music. I loved it and I thought that this music would be best for the quartet. The ones I especially like are, Prayer of a Refugee (Rise Against), Knight of Cydonia (Muse), Through Fire and Flames (Dragon Force), Snow Hey Oh (Red Hot Chilly Peppers), Holiday (Green Day), and Yellow (Coldplay). It would be great if I could get at least one of these pieces of music. And it is June so I was thinking that these songs would be on here, but I couldn’t find anything. Please post or send me music.

You should consider how, despite this economy, couples/families are spending mega bucks on WEDDINGS. So, your first sheet music collection really should be geared towards pieces that will sell like hotcakes—wedding music! (if you don’t believe me, check the most popular digital downloads on sheetmusicdirect, et al, most of it is wedding music).

Hi there! Just wanted to keep everyone up to date on the status of the sheet music we promised oh so long ago.
As we don’t completely own the rights to the music (these are tributes, after all!), negotiations for sheet music take quite a long time. Sometimes, especially with hyper-current, big name albums and artists he licenses are super hard to obtain. Basically, we have to secure licenses with the copyright owners of the composition before Vitamin Records can print sheet music.
Trust us, we want the sheet music just as much as you guys do! We all just have to bide our time while we wait for the legal stuff to pan out.

I, too, think making some of this music available for purchase in sheet music form would be great–my high school kids would eat it up. However, I spent 20 years in the music publishing biz in NYC before returning to teaching, and I know that licensing, multiple copyright-holders, mechanical rights & performing rights for anything related to current pop music is an absolute nightmare! We’re a patient bunch. Good luck, and keep us all updated on progress. (This stuff really would sell like crazy if you can make it happen. No inventory–just PayPal & download!)

Some of us (like me!) have been waiting for over a year for this stuff to be released with no progress or update…I love your music and understand the difficulties of the process but would really like to just be kept in the loop. …I have made a complete list of the music I want to have played by a quartet I’ve hired for my wedding based soley on the VSQ arrangements…I have a little less than a year to go, but I’m thinking that I’d have better luck just working with the violinist and violist to rearrange the songs I’ve picked (all 15 of them)…that is, unless the sheet music will be published soon?

Well we have select pieces that will be coming out soon! (we’ve finally been able to tie all of the loose ends that come along with licensing string arrangements!) So we’ll be posting soon about those!
I think you guys should do “C’mon” by Panic! At the Disco (with Fun.) It’s such a magical piece that could easily be played by a quartet or orchestra. Plus there are multiple singers which makes it easy to separate the different parts for different instruments or sections. As a violinist, I know how it would sound and it would sound breathtaking. You should seriously consider it! Thank you so much for your time!

Just going to say, very disappointed. It is September 1, 2011 and still no sheet music that was promised for June 2010. I understand that people have lives that can complicate getting things done in a timely fashion, but its really disappointing when you look upto people and expect them to keep their promises and they don’t do that. I’m sure there are many others who feel the same way. Don’t promise something you don’t intend to deliver on…it will help keep people from expecting and hoping and ultiamately being disappointed.

We’re really sorry, Amanda! Unfortunately the circumstances were out of our control as far as licenses to create the sheet music went. But after a lot of ring-arounds and hoop jumping we’ve finally made amends and are getting set to release the arrangements as soon as possible. It’s a rough business… again, we are sorry and we appreciate your patience.
