A Perfect Circle to Reunite?

a perfect circle

Radio show prep service The Pulse of Radio, is reporting the A Perfect Circle may be reuniting in the near future. The band, which has primarily been a side project started by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan in 1999 during legal battles with Tool’s record company, has been mostly dormant since its last release, 2004’s Emotive. But as Keenan hinted to the Pulse, the band may not be done yet. In 2008 Keenan noted that guitarist Billy Howerdel and he have been working on new tunes for the band, though they’ve no intentions to put a full LP together, or resume touring. Keenan said, "I doubt if we'll do any touring or, you know, do a full album. We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing's right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we'll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore." Howerdel's band Ashes Divide played the other night at Hollywood's Viper Room. Howerdel reportedly told the Antiquiet that a full album and tour were possible for A Perfect Circle, and that the band was working on "something" that is expected to be out later this year. On Rolling Stone’s website a couple weeks ago, Keenan also confirmed that A Perfect Circle material is on its way. He stated for the site, "We've got some riffs and some music. It's just basically playing it over and over again while driving and waiting for things to fall into place." In the meantime, fans will have to contend with a video of Keenan and Howerdel playing together at the recent E3 tradeshow in LA. Here’s the two of them doing “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Recommended Listening: String Quartet Tribute To A Perfect Circle
