Dr Dre Releases Official Single For Detox

After many, many, many months of waiting, Dr. Dre has finally released the first  single off his much anticipated follow up to The Chronic: 2001. It’s crazy to  think that that album came out 10 years ago. The album, titled Detox, is said to be released on April 20th, but Dre has denied such rumors.

A video for the track, called “I Need A Doctor,” was recently shot with Allen  Hughes, the director behind Menace II Society and The Book of Eli. Long time  friend and collaborator, Eminem, was reportedly spotted on the set in  downtown Los Angeles. Eminem guests on a majority of the track, which you  can hear if you head over to Dre’s site.

The song isn't bad, and it definitely offers listeners a peak into what Dre’s been  doing for the last 10 years. Another song called "Kush" was recently leaked from the album. You can check out here. The album supposedly includes a myriad of guests from the hip-hop world, including regular Dre along with contributors such as Snoop Dogg, Akon, Nate Dogg, and more. With so much hype surrounding this release, it could very well be one of the biggest releases of the year. Eminem and Dre have also been announced as the openers for the 53rd Grammy's, which is scheduled for February 13th.  They’ll be performing the new single, as well  as one of Eminem’s songs off of his best-selling album of 2010, Recovery.
